You Think You Know But You Have No Idea

(31 May 2007) -- This is my third tag blog.  The first time I got tagged has been deleted from my own blog but can still be read in ?uestlove's Blog Number 43 from when he responded to my tag of him by clicking here.  Back then I called myself "I get so turned on ... by reading my own byline."

The second time I was blogged can be read by my friends only and it can be found by clicking here.

Now ... on to this tag ...

Anthony Brice tagged me.  You can read his tagged blog entitled, "I was tagged by an industry insider," by clicking here.

The rules in this game of tag are simple -- once you have been tagged, you must write a blog with ten, weird, random things, little known facts or habits about yourself.  At the end choose 10 people to be tagged, list their names and why you chose them.  Don't forget to leave a comment that says "you been tagged" and tell them to read your latest blog.

So here I go ... from casual things about me to more serious things most of which indicate that I'm probably OCD ...

10)  Whenever I am holding something circular, I feel compelled to trace the outline of it.  For example, if you hand me a plate, I will feel the need to trace the outline of it with my finger.

09)  Before I actually move my gearshift out of the "park" position, I must check and double check everything -- meaning, I must buckle up, make sure everyone else is buckled up, adjust the stereo volume, rear-view mirror, and side mirrors, etc.

08)  When I was in the Navy, I used to starch and iron the creases into my sheets before I ever put them on my "rack" (that's a bed in civilian speak).  I actually measured out my six-inches and 45-degrees.

07)  I started my first day of college exactly seven days after the last day of high school.  I was in a super hurry to get my education!  Or more correctly, I was excited about the idea of being out from under my parent's roof

06)  I have never lived in one domicile for longer than 18 months since I turned 18 years of age.  I was always really restless and more importantly, thirsty for the knowledge of other cultures, lifestyles, etc. of other cities, surroundings, etc.

05)  I did not have my first taste of liquor until my 21st birthday.  And on my 21st birthday I was completely drunk thanks to the ministrations of my cousin who decided I should take shots of Bacardi 151 and chase it with Bacardi Gold.  There also happened to have been 21-inches of snow on the ground that day.

04)  I used to have five tattoos but I had one removed from the back of my neck to join the Navy because they said that it was "gang related."

03)  English was not my first language.  I learned to speak Cambodian, Spanish, and Russian before ever learning a word of English.  It wasn't until kindergarten that I learned to speak English.  I now am only functionally fluent in Cambodian, Spanish, and Russian though I read and write them pretty well.

02)  I do not know anyone personally who has died of natural causes.  Every death that has personally affected me (like those of my four older brothers) has happened as the result of violence.

01)  I was conceived in an act of terrible violence.  My mother was raped and when faced with the decision of whether to abort me or not, she chose to keep me which is why I am very weary of the "special circumstances" that people argue abortion is okay for.
